Frequently Asked Questions

Nope, we are eager to get started with you. In Florida, you can be seen by a physical therapist without a physician referral for up to 30 days under direct access laws.
-
Your first visit is a full sixty minute evaluation. We will begin with a thorough conversation about your symptoms, your history, and your goals. From there, Jordan will perform an external physical assessment of the abdomen, hips, and spine. In most cases an internal pelvic floor examination will also be performed to assess muscle tone, strength, and coordination. Everything is explained before it happens and your comfort guides the pace at every step.
-
An internal examination allows us to directly assess the pelvic floor muscles and is often the most important part of understanding what is driving your symptoms. That said, nothing is ever performed without your full consent and internal exams can always be postponed if you are not comfortable. We will never rush this process and will work with you at whatever pace feels right.

Dry needling and acupuncture both use thin needles but they are distinct practices rooted in different philosophies. Dry needling is a physical therapy technique grounded in Western medicine and neuroscience. It targets specific muscle trigger points and dysfunctional tissue to reduce pain, release tension, and restore normal muscle function. It is particularly effective for chronic pelvic pain conditions and tight or overactive pelvic floor muscles. Jordan is certified in dry needling for both the full body and the pelvic floor.

We are a private pay, out-of-network practice. This means we do not bill insurance directly, which allows us to provide the unhurried, one-on-one care that our patients deserve without the limitations that insurance-based practices face. Upon request we will provide a detailed superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement.
We also gladly accept HSA and FSA payments. We encourage you to call your insurance provider to ask about your out-of-network physical therapy benefits before your first visit.

Every patient is different and the number of sessions depends on your condition, how long you have been experiencing symptoms, and your individual goals. Some patients see significant improvement in just a few sessions while others with more complex or long-standing conditions benefit from a longer course of care. Jordan will give you a realistic picture of your expected plan during your initial evaluation and will continue to reassess and adjust as you progress.
-
This is one of the most common things we hear, and it is completely valid. Pelvic floor physical therapy varies enormously depending on the training, experience, and focus of the provider. Precision Pelvic Floor Therapy was built specifically around chronic pelvic pain and complex pelvic floor conditions. Jordan has advanced training in these diagnoses, uses a wide range of specialized techniques including dry needling, biofeedback, and rectal balloon training, and dedicates a full hour of one-on-one time to every single session. If previous PT felt generic or surface level, this will feel different.

Yes, absolutely. Having your period does not prevent you from being evaluated or treated. Depending on your comfort level and the focus of the session, we can adjust the plan for that visit if needed.
